The Accounts Payable (A/P) Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of incoming invoices for the organization’s European branches. This position is responsible for accurately recording invoices in the financial system, ensuring they are assigned to the correct accounts, VAT codes, and cost centers. Timely and precise processing is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

In addition to invoice processing, the A/P Accountant actively manages the accounts payable subledger, analyzing payments, reconciling discrepancies, and performing accounting transactions to keep financial data up to date. They serve as a key point of contact for colleagues seeking clarification on historical bookings and invoices, as well as for vendors with inquiries about payment statuses. Clear and professional communication with both internal and external stakeholders is an important aspect of the role.

Beyond handling invoices, the A/P Accountant is also responsible for processing employee expense declarations, ensuring compliance with company guidelines. They play a vital role in the monthly closing process by drafting necessary financial specifications and preparing and verifying payment batches. Additionally, they monitor the timely execution of payments, helping to maintain strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring smooth financial operations.

This role requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment. The A/P Accountant contributes significantly to the organization’s financial stability by ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in the accounts payable process.

The position is for at least 6 months, with possibility of an extension depending on future projects within the company.
